The minimum wage law force businesses to employ illegal immigrants because they cannot complain about the wages paid. And South African workers does not get the jobs because the unions will destroy the businesses if they pay less than the minimum wages.
The employer has no choice, and the employee has no choice. The state hinders the employer from giving work to South Africans and, through legislation, takes the opportunity to work out of the hands of the willing worker who just wants to put food on the table.
South Africans are hardworking people. Many employers would be willing to give workers a chance to work for a very low wage to learn skills and thus prove themselves. After that, the employer will pay that good worker better wages than the minimum payment. But the government takes away that privilege of learning new skills from all South African citizens.

The South African Government with National Minimum Wage Act 9 of 2018
Source: https://www.legalwise.co.za/help-yourself/legal-articles/national-minimum-wage-what-you-need-know
The National Minimum Wage Act 9 of 2018 (“Act”) aims to advance economic development and social justice by protecting workers from being paid unreasonably low wages. The Act applies to all workers and their employers except members of National Defence Force, the National Intelligence Agency and the South African Secret Service. Every employer may not pay wages that are below the minimum wage and the national minimum wage cannot be reduced by contract, except if the contract provides for a more favourable wage.
WORKERS IN SOUTH AFRICA CANNOT WAIVE THEIR RIGHT TO RECEIVE MINIMUM WAGE. FOR THAT REASON, THE CURRENT GOVERNMENT OF OUR COUNTRY CREATES UNEMPLOYMENT AND POVERTY, AND AN ENVIRONMENT FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO FLOURISH AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CITIZENS OF THE COUNTRY.
We wonder how many of the top officials in our government, who make daily decisions about new regulations to hinder the freedoms of individuals and businesspeople, have ever been in business themselves to view the regulations from a businessperson’s perspective.

The state’s responsibility is towards the citizens of the country:
Now, what is the gift our President is giving to the citizens of the country on December 3, 2024?
It is not in the interest of the citizens of the country what the current government is doing. This must be urgently corrected.
The question being asked is whose interests are being prioritized: the citizens of the country or those who have bought the soul of the country’s administration?
